Summer Day Camp for Visual and Performing
Arts
June 24 – July 5, 2013 • For Rising 6th, 7th, and 8th Graders
Performing Arts Morning 8:30-12 / Visual Arts 1-4pm
With faculty representation from Mount de Sales Academy, Loyola Blakefield and St. Agnes School, the St. Agnes Summer Arts Camp features two separate aspects of Art Education.
Performing Arts Workshop:
The Performing Arts Workshop exposes students to all aspects of theatrical and performing arts, from audition to final performance. Students will learn the basics of the audition, including the dramatic monologue and the musical audition. Stage presence, movement, and vocal projection will be featured. Students will leave the program with a drama resume and headshot.Visual Arts Workshop:
The Visual Arts Workshop is designed togive art students exposure to high school art programs featuring graphic design, drawing and painting.
The program will guide students through work with a variety of media to determine each student's strengths
and help each student develop a portfolio. With an opportunity to meet and work with high school faculty, students will explore options in the arts available to them in high school and beyond.

Our Instructors:
Dan Baker is currently the music teacher at St. Agnes School where he has taught for twenty-one years. He is also the lead vocalist, and keyboardist for "Mixed Emotions" a local variety band. Dan is organist at St. Lawrence Marytr Catholic Church as well as LifeTeen Band Director for St. Lawrence and Resurrection of Our Lord Churches. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from American University.
Kelly Cardall has been running the drama department at Mount de Sales Academy for 7 years. She received her BA in Theatre with an emphasis on directing from Marymount Manhattan College. She has directed for Run of the Mill Theatre in Baltimore and performed with Run of the Mill, Spotlighter’s, and Art on Purpose. She also works as a film actor; holding principal roles in local productions and working as a background actor when Hollywood comes to Baltimore. She has a great affinity for the characterization process and enjoys helping young actors develop a role.
Christian Garretson is the Theatre Director at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, MD. He is a certified Theatre Specialist by the Maryland State Dept. of Education, and holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Directing from the Catholic University of America. He has been a teacher for 24 years.
Jennifer Jeske has been the art teacher at St. Agnes School since 2002. After serving in the Marine Corps, she was a graphic artist, copy editor and freelance writer. She graduated from the University of South Carolina. She and her husband have six children.
Angela Romeo is the dance instructor and choreographer at Mount de Sales Academy. She studied dance Goucher College and graduated cum laude from Loyola College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She is pursuing a Masters in Dance Education and is a member of the National Dance Education Organization, the National Dance Association, and the International Association of Dance Medicine & Science. Mrs. Romeo lives in Catonsville with her husband and three children.
